Manufacturing Space
With the recent inauguration of a state-of-the-art 100,000 sq. ft. Stainless Steel facility, complemented by a separate, dedicated 25,000 sq. ft. Carbon Steel site, our production facility in Workington and our nuclear machining and apprentice centre, Steel Dynamics are fortifying our position as a prominent player in the UK and European steel market.
Known for our quality products and reliable service, with such diverse multi-metal stockholding facilities, a fleet of vehicles and products spanning several sites and comprising over 150,000 square feet, we are well positioned to service our customers wherever they are.
Added-Value Processing
We have the widest range of processing services available from any metal service centre in Europe. With 27 state-of-the-art added-value processing machines, including a full suite of cutting machines at your disposal, we have the tools and expertise to bring your projects to life with precision and efficiency.
Home to the UK's largest 14M x 4M waterjet cutting machine, we can handle waterjet cutting on stainless steel grades up to 200mm in thickness. Plus, our arsenal of processing equipment includes the latest high powered fibre laser cutting machines, hi-def plasma with oxy fuel plate, CNC machining, CNC cutting, press brakes, testing and more.

Rest assured, all plate materials are fully certified and come with full traceability reports and mill test certificates, available as standard. With Stainless Steel grades in thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm – 150mm, and we are confident in supplying and meeting the requirements for a wide array of industries.
Nuclear Accreditations
Steel Dynamics are the world’s first ISO 19443 accredited metal service centre. ISO 19443 is a quality management standard that applies the principles of the international standard for quality, ISO 9001, to the nuclear sector. It can be used by businesses within the entire nuclear supply chain for any equipment, product or service important to nuclear safety.
We provide metals of the highest European origin quality to ensure both new build and decommissioned materials are contained effectively and safely.
