Steel Dynamics UK is a dedicated stainless steel specialist, supplying European-origin stainless, duplex, super duplex and lean duplex from stock to UK manufacturers and project supply chains.
Stainless steel is all we do. Our 100,000 sq ft facility is dedicated exclusively to stainless processing, eliminating any risk of cross-contamination from carbon steel or other metals. Every sheet and plate we hold is of EU origin, sourced from Europe's most trusted mills and supplied with mill certificates, giving full material traceability and certified compliance.
Our extensive stock range boasts over 3,000 tonnes of stainless grades in thicknesses from 0.5mm to 150mm, with over 10,000 tonnes processed each year for a wide array of high-specification industries.
Stainless Steel
There are more than 100 different grades of Stainless Steel available and we stock a comprehensive range in a variety of grades, forms and sizes.
Stainless Steel is a type of alloy that is resistant to rusting and corrosion. It is made of iron, chromium, and nickel, and sometimes other elements like carbon are added to obtain the desired properties. The chromium in Stainless Steel forms a passive film that can protect the material and self-heal in the presence of oxygen, which makes it resistant to rusting and corrosion.

Duplex Steel
Duplex Stainless Steel is a type of Stainless Steel that is composed of grains of two types of Stainless Steel material, austenitic and ferritic. Duplex Stainless Steels are designed to provide better corrosion resistance and higher strength than standard austenitic Stainless Steels due to the differences in composition.
Both the low nickel content and the high strength (enabling thinner sections to be used) give significant cost benefits. They are therefore used extensively in the
offshore oil and gas industry for pipework systems, manifolds, risers, etc. and in the petrochemical industry in the form of pipelines and pressure vessels.
Super Duplex Steel
Super Duplex Stainless Steel is a type of corrosion-resistant alloy that is highly resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and pitting. It is often used
as a substitute for 300 series Stainless Steel, high nickel super-austenitic steels and nickel-based alloys.
Super Duplex Stainless Steel is often used in applications that require high strength and corrosion resistance in various industries such as chemical/petrochemical,
pulp and paper and marine, such as oil and gas pipelines, heat exchangers and pressure vessels.

Green Steel
Green Steel represents a significant advancement in the Stainless Steel industry, offering a product that combines high-quality Stainless Steel with a greatly reduced carbon footprint.
Produced with significantly reduced or near-zero carbon emissions, it matches the mechanical performance engineers expect while helping customers meet their own sustainability commitments and Scope 3 targets, which is an increasingly attractive option for environmentally conscious industries, from construction and architecture to aerospace, nuclear and renewables.

Lean Duplex Steel
Lean Duplex is a type of duplex alloy that combines the best characteristics of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. The “lean” designation refers to its reduced alloying content, particularly in nickel and molybdenum, which makes it more cost-effective and sustainable without compromising on performance.
The dual-phase microstructure delivers significantly higher strength - typically around twice that of 304 or 316 stainless steel - along with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
