Manufacturing Space
Steel Dynamics UK provides UK-based stainless steel manufacturing support through stockholding and in-house processing for complex engineering and fabrication supply chains. From our 100,000 sq ft stainless steel facility in Blackburn, Lancashire, we process stainless steel plate, sheet and profiles to customer specification with controlled lead times and consistent quality.
Our stainless steel processing capability includes fibre laser cutting, waterjet cutting and high-definition plasma cutting supported by CNC machining. This gives customers a single route from material availability to cut and machined components with clear documentation and traceability.
Added-Value Processing
We have the widest range of processing services available from any metal service centre in Europe. With 27 state-of-the-art added-value processing machines, including a full suite of cutting machines at your disposal, we have the tools and expertise to bring your projects to life with precision and efficiency.
Home to the UK's largest 14M x 4M waterjet cutting machine, we can handle waterjet cutting on stainless steel grades up to 200mm in thickness. Plus, our arsenal of processing equipment includes the latest high powered fibre laser cutting machines, hi-def plasma with oxy fuel plate, CNC machining, CNC cutting, press brakes, testing and more.

Rest assured, all plate materials are fully certified and come with full traceability reports and mill test certificates, available as standard. Nuclear Accreditations
Steel Dynamics UK is the world’s first ISO 19443 accredited metal service centre. ISO 19443 is a quality management standard that applies the principles of the international standard for quality, ISO 9001, to the nuclear sector. It can be used by businesses within the entire nuclear supply chain for any equipment, product or service important to nuclear safety.
