Kitting & Packing

Project-ready stainless steel kits - picked, packed, labelled and delivered with full traceability to your programme schedule.

When a project stalls, it is rarely the major item that causes the delay - more often than not it's the missing support piece.

Steel Dynamics UK can supply your stainless steel as a ready-to-use kit, built around your work order, delivered in a single drop with clear labelling and project-level traceability.

Built as Complete Kits

Because we're a dedicated processor - not a distributor - we hold the stock, cut the parts, package the kit and produce the paperwork from a single, stainless-only facility. One supplier, one cert pack, one point of accountability.

We pick, pack and label mixed grades, sizes and forms into a single kit number, with a full kit contents list — so your team spends less time receiving and checking and more time building. Where it helps, we sequence packs by assembly order and deliver line-side to a project container or across multiple drop points, so parts arrive exactly where and when they are needed.

Kanban-Controlled Replenishment

For repeat projects and ongoing programmes, we hold agreed buffer stock of kits or kit components and replenish automatically when consumption hits the trigger point. Your signal can be as simple as a scan, a bin-empty trigger or a min-max report - we build the rules around your actual usage patterns, so stock stays consistent without overstocking or the risk of a missing part holding up the line.

As a stainless steel processor, we can include pre-cut, profiled or machined parts within the same kit — not as a separate order from a separate supplier. Certification packs, heat numbers and mill traceability remain tied to the project throughout, so cert documentation arrives with the parts and stays aligned to the work order.

Labelling and Delivery Discipline

For customers in nuclear, aerospace, defence and critical infrastructure, we match our kitting, labelling, inspection and delivery processes to your site and programme requirements. Every kit leaves our facility with the same quality controls and traceability documentation that apply to our standard supply, so kitting and Kanban support your project rather than introduce a new layer of risk or administration.

A distributor sources material from multiple locations and consolidates it. A processor builds the kit from stock it holds, cuts it processes and certifies, under one roof. That means every item in your kit has unbroken traceability from mill origin to delivery, with a single cert pack and a single contact responsible for the whole supply.

Steel Dynamics UK holds 3,000 tonnes of European-origin stainless steel in a dedicated, stainless-only facility, processes around 10,000 tonnes annually, and is the world's first ISO 19443 accredited metal service centre.

Our kitting service applies the same quality management system that supports our nuclear and aerospace customers to every kit we build.
