Steel Dynamics UK Under New Ownership

Steel Dynamics UK Limited has entered a new phase following its acquisition by Steel Dynamics Holdings Limited on 29 January 2026.

Backed by a consortium of external investors and new funding, this investment gives the business a stronger financial platform to support its strategic plans, with particular opportunities for growth in the nuclear sector.

The investor group is led by Peter Cowgill, who will serve as Chairman, and Ian Johnson, who joins as Executive Group Director, working alongside the existing management team led by Robert Pattenden and Danny McKinley.

This marks an important step for Steel Dynamics UK, strengthening the business’s foundations and supporting its next stage of development.
