At Steel Dynamics UK, we’re committed to driving meaningful change in our environmental performance.

Last year, we partnered with Positive Planet, experts in guiding businesses on their journey to net zero. Their team helped us accurately measure and report our carbon emissions using the globally recognised GHG Protocol, aligning our efforts with all major sustainability frameworks.

As part of their assessment, Positive Planet benchmarked us against global standards in the Metals Industry across four key pillars:

With regular monitoring and data analysis, they introduced targeted initiatives to help us reduce energy consumption and operate more efficiently.

Looking ahead, we’re working towards a clear roadmap of actions that support our goal of becoming a Net Zero carbon business by 2050.

This collaboration marks another step forward in our long-term sustainability journey - and we’re just getting started.
