Our CEO, Ian Griffiths

It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of our CEO, Ian Griffiths, after a short illness.

Ian was a respected and well-known figure in our industry, dedicating his career to building and shaping multi-metal service centres. As a true entrepreneur, his vision and determination played a defining role in the growth of Steel Dynamics UK and the Steel Dynamics Group of companies. His passion, commitment, and innovative spirit have left a lasting legacy.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ian was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Anna, and their two sons, George and Eddie, who were at the heart of his life. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with them and all of Ian’s family at this very difficult time.

While we come to terms with this loss, we want to reassure our customers, suppliers, and colleagues that the directors, senior management team, and our investment partners remain united in ensuring continuity and supporting both the business and our people as we move forward together.
